8" x 10" (image size) - PEN&INK
| This
is a rare view of the "Turn & Grind Shop", where large
steel ingots were turned down into shafts, cams, etc.
However, as the title would suggest, the focus of this drawing is on the tracks leading into the building. The entire production of steel relied on rail tracks to transport molten steel to the different shops. These tracks, once the lifeline of the steel, are now covered by dirt, stones and time, slowly getting forgotten. This print is in honor of the railroad workers who played an important role in steelmaking. |
