Paramount
Pictures recently invaded our little town of Bethlehem to use the Bethlehem
Steel site as the backdrop for the opening scene of the upcoming Transformers
II movie. They were here for almost a week to shoot only the opening
two minutes of the movie, providing a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity
for enthusiasts such as myself. They also provided many Bethlehem residents
the chance to get autographs from the stars, but I was less impressed
with the actors and more intrigued with what they did with the Bethlehem
Steel.
Set at night in a futuristic Asian city, the transformation to the Steel
was unbelievable, including an awesome combination of lighting, smoke,
and explosions. And just when I thought it couldn't get any cooler..
that's when the military helicoptors started flying around. If you thought
the Steel looked cool normally during the day, you're gonna love these
images.
